Why “La Unión"

We are a group of specialized Guatemalan teachers with experience working with Peace Corps volunteers preparing them to do social work. We decided to found  Spanish School La Unión in the city of Antigua with the objective of sharing our abilities with people who want to learn Spanish as a second language and at the same time learn about Guatemalan culture. Our teaching methods are innovative and we have successfully prepared hundreds of volunteers and students for various careers. We can do the same for you.

We believe in the idea of "re-union" as well. We require our teachers to meet regularly in order to refresh their knowledge of key grammatical structures and our teaching methodology. The basis for some of these "reunions" is the material presented in "Español en Latinoamérica" and "¿Qué Onda Vos? / What's Up Dude?" and coming soon "Puro Subjuntivo / Pure Subjunctive" the latter two texts written and published by the school's director, Juan Carlos Martínez.

Our Focus is...

....intensive and individualized one-on-one instruction. This ensures that you will receive the attention and practice required to truly learn the Spanish language.

Flexibility is our stength.We can accommodate a beginner student who has no experience speaking Spanish, as well as a more advanced speaker who seeks mastery of the language.
