Capacitación como una Herramienta de Trabajo

This project was founded in June, 2007 by Paola, the current director, and Victor Hugo Samayoa. It is situated in Jocotenango, which is located 10 minutes by bus from Antigua.

The purpose is to provide the necessary tools to people who wish to improve their wellbeing through the commercialization of their products through expositions.

The project Capacitación como una Herramienta de Trabajo provides floral workshops, workshops of handcrafts, beauty consultants, and cooking. Additionally, the provide groups which talk about self esteem, goals planning, as well as and other issues. Furthermore, the project arranges expositions on many levels in order for people to show and sell their products. Exposition allows for people to meet others from neighboring areas (Escuintla, Chimaltenango, etc.) in order to exchange ideas and information.

As a volunteer, you can support the organization in the above mentioned areas. Every workshop takes place once a week in the afternoon from Tuesday to Saturday. You can help all week or in one special workshop; if you choose the second option you are asked to join the same workshop at least 3 times. If you are capable of having a conversation in Spanish (intermediate level), are keen on working and have spirit to serve, this is the right place for you.

As the project Capacitación como una Herramienta de Trabajo is in its beginning stages, any donation is welcomed, especially donations to help equip the workrooms. The organization is happy to receive any other donation (cleaning products, trash cans, etc.).
